Juno collects a 16.65% commission from the subtotal of a ride: (Base Fare + Time + Distance) + surge. The taxes and Black Car Fund fee are then deducted from the subtotal. The final amount is the amount a driver would take home.
A minimum per-trip payment is added to any ride originating in NYC in which the total fare did not meet the minimum fare per the TLC's guidelines.
Here's an example of a $30 fare breakdown:
Total Fare: $30
Driver takes home: $21.95
Base Fare: $2.55
Mileage: 8.59 miles adding up to $15.03 ($1.75 per mile)
Time: 35.49 minutes adding up to $12.42 ($0.35 per minute)
Juno's Commission: $5
Sales Tax: $2.39
Black Car Fund: $0.66
Driver Fare: $21.95
Juno collects sales tax and Black Car Fund fees from the rider. Because of factors such as discounts, credits, promotions, and upfront pricing, the actual fare paid by the rider as well as the actual sales tax and Black Car Fund fees may be different than the amount shown to drivers in the Juno Driver app.
