In an effort to reduce vehicle congestion in Manhattan, a law has been passed to collect a surcharge from yellow cabs and services like Juno. Starting February 2nd, 2019, Juno was required to add a $2.75 surcharge to trips that travel through a specified congestion zone.
The congestion zone area is in Manhattan, south of 96th street.
The surcharge will be applied to rides that start, end, or travel through the congestion zone. Rides must also start and end within New York State, so rides coming from or going to New Jersey, for example, would not be affected.
The congestion surcharge will be included in your upfront fare.
